10 Ways to Help Your Kids Return Home Safely from School

Children are shy and reluctant when it comes to meeting other people they’ve never seen before. This is why the first day of school can be very confusing for your young one. As the second part of August is right around the corner, it’s almost time to change routines and return to alarm rings and busy mornings.

Even if parents refuse to think about it, getting on the wrong bus is extremely common. According to the U.S. Department of Education, this happens to one in three students, especially to new pupils.

Kurt Kroemer, executive director of the American Red Cross of Greater Phoenix offered some tips to make sure kids return home safely after their first day of school: “Whether riding, biking or walking to school, we want everyone to arrive and then return home safely.”

Some parenting experts believe that the most important factor in ensuring a child has a good school year is the involvement of his or her parent. Here are some helpful ways to get organized, prepare your child for school and make sure your lids return home safely every day.
